National Geographic Travel suggests Intelligent Travel in Green Way
November 19, 2008
National Geographic Traveler picked up on the New York Times article on the Green RV. I’ve heard of “McMansions” before but this was the first for “Franken-bus”. That said, what grabbed me was the title Intelligent Travel.
The New Oxford American Dictionary identifies “intelligent” with a Latin origin in the word “understand.”
When it comes to traveling green, those that do so (Today’s Explorers) understand the precarious environmental position we currently find ourselves in and hope to find ways of treading lightly. An Intelligent Traveler is one that explores our country with conservation in mind, with a personal understanding of the Dirt in their own DNA.
What better definition of intelligence can there be than understanding not only where you come from but what you are made of as well.

Hi Brian -
Glad you enjoyed our blog post! FYI, the name of the blog is Intelligent Travel (Traveler is the name of the magazine); the conservation message remains the same. The work you do is very impressive. Thanks for mentioning us!
